PFLP: Arrests of our leaders will not deter us from continuing resistance

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine confirmed that the Zionist occupation forces launched a pre-dawn campaign of raids across the occupied West Bank of Palestine on Sunday, arresting a number of leaders and activists of the Front, led by the Palestinian Legislative Council member Khalida Jarrar, feminist activist Khitam Saafin and former prisoner Ihab Massoud, as well as a number of activists in al-Khalil. The Front declared that these attacks will not stop it from continuing its role in resistance to occupation and confronting the crimes and projects that attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The Front emphasized that these arrests only underline the futility of the choices of the Palestinian Authority to continue to bet on settlements, “peace process” and security coordination. It also confirms the correctness of the Front’s position and its continuing struggle to build the resistance and the primary contradiction with the occupation as a major feature of its approach and political positions.

The Front further stated that these arrests have come after the major campaign of incitement launched by the Zionist entity and its prime minister, the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, against the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the resistance factions.

The PFLP urged the Palestinian masses to escalate the popular movement to support the struggle of the brave prisoners in Israeli jails, for Jarrar and Saafin and the prisoner Muhammad Allan, on hunger strike for 25 days.

The Front promised to continue to defend the rights and principles of the Palestinian people. Continued targeting by the occupation only emphasizes the importance of continuing the path to return and liberation.

Head of the Irish Republican Socialist Party International Department and Ard Comhairle member Sean Carlin delivered a solidarity message to our comrades struggling abroad.

International solidarity is an important aspect of the struggle for socialism in Ireland. Through this work our International department has endeavored to rebuild old friendships and to find new allies as we try to get support for our struggle but also give support and solidarity to others around the world who find themselves fighting against oppression and injustice.

During this Easter we would like to extend solidarity and revolutionary greetings to our comrades in Catalonia as they demand independence from Spain. They have fought a long and hard fight over the decades and if they can achieve victory this it will bode well for their neighbours in the Basque country. ETA has very recently volunarily disarmed in an attempt to further their cause through politically peaceful activities. It’s been reported that the Spanish government has not reacted in a positive manner to this brave move. History has shown that the Spanish will not come easily to a political solution that gives autonomy to either the Basques or the Catalans and we urge our comrades to exercise caution and to stay resolute when dealing with the intransigence of Madrid. Like here, too many sacrifices have been made and too many imprisoned and too many families broken up over a long period of time for these initiatives not to produce positive political results for our comrades in the Basque country.

Given our experience of the pacification process here in Ireland we would caution. We would demand that the Spanish and French Governments recipricate ETA’s initiative and repatriate Basque prisoners from both Spanish and French jails. We know from experience if you oppose the process for any reason you will be subjected to state harrassment

Since the Brexit referendum there is a growing desire from Scotland to once against vote to leave the UK. We look forward to any coming referdom in Scotland were the scots have a chance to become a free nation as we see this as a real opportunity for occupied Ireland.

This year has seen many groups fighting for to implement a better, more sustainable progressive and revolutionary future for their people. Some are simply fighting against oppression from religious fundamentalists and we will continue to offer support to all these goups.

The Kurds, Palestinians, Syrians, Yemenis, the Free Papua Movement  to name but a few as we see the interests of the USA and backed by the worlds capitalists rain their bombs in civilian targets and hospitals inbuilt up areas but never the oil or the gas depots.

Comrades as neo liberal agenda ramps up we must be ready to stand by our comrades

Christmas Greetings from the Irish Republican Socialist Prisoners

The Irish Republican Socialist prisoners in Portlaoise and Castlerea gaols would like to wish all our friends and comrades within the Republican Socialist Movement a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We commend the Irish Republican Socialist Party on their successful achievement in building the party of Connolly and Costello nationwide and in building a true Revolutionary Socialist alternative for the working class.

We commend the Volunteers of the Irish National Liberation Army for their part in contributing to the class struggle and who have a popularly supported revolutionary mandate and after 40+ years of struggle their position as disciplined revolutionaries remains the same! We salute all past and present members of the Republican Socialist Movement for their sterling contributions and to Teach Na failte for continuing to give IRSM prisoners and their families support throughout the year. The prisoners would also like to send our condolences to the O’Hara and McGlinchey family on the passing of Peggy and Declan this year. We also feel your loss and hope that despite this unimaginable sorrow you bear, your familiy circles may manage to comfort each other at this special time of the year.

We would also like to send our season greetings as Socialists and Internationalists to all political prisoners in Ireland and abroad who have lost their freedom to fight for National Liberation and Socialism. We make common cause with all those revolutionaries who oppose Imperialism here and in the developing world. As a Marxist Leninist Movement we encourage those to critique both the Corporate and Gombeen capitalist machine here using the scientific Socialism of Marx, Engels, Connolly and Lenin. We all recognise that Capitalism’s heartless pursuit of profit have deprived our class, the working class, of an equal society for their own social and economic well being.

We have seen a serious rise in the most draconian attacks on the most vulnerable strata of society this year, whether by the Free State Leinster House Gombeen scoundrels or the far right junta composed of a neo-Fianna Fail type reformist nationalist party in combine with the Fascist sectarian DUP, inflicting so-called austerity measures on the Irish Proletariat. We see no alternative but the revolutionary politics and direct action of Irish Republican Socialism advocated by Connolly and Costello in tandem with the political analysis, policies and of the IRSP. Through the mass agitation and mobilisation of the working class we can succeed in achieving theses objectives.

As the centenary of the 1916 rising approaches, it is the largest historical event of our generation. We are fully committed in contributing to the ideals and principals of the 1916 proclamation from within and without Irish gaols. We welcome all who share the same values as our leaders of 1916 to pursue their goals in achieving an equal society and to help end British rule over the north east of our island. We salute you all who genuinely seek a country that truly seeks to value the children of the nation equally!

The Black Panther Party 10 Point Program

An educational and relevant article from the Black Panther Party for those who wish to hear an important part of their raison d’etre.  The Black Panther Party, who were active for nearly 20 years  from the mid-1960’s were a popular Revolutionary Socialist movement in black working class areas, (they are not to be confused with the current so-called ‘New Black Panthers’ who are simply a Black Nationalist entity).  They were eventually destroyed by the most underhand means, codenamed COINTELPRO  by the US Government’s FBI, you can learn more by clicking these links.   COINTELPRO  partly involved the FBI flooding Black working class areas with Heroin and other highly addictive narcotics, in partnership with the Mafia, to negate the Black Panther Party’s leadership of their community, nullify the peoples’ previous militant will to resist, act cohesively and pose the threat to the corrupt and racist status quo.   This is a lesson we can all learn from today. The Ten-Point Program

  1. We Want Freedom. We Want Power To Determine
    The Destiny Of Our Black Community.

    We believe that Black people will not be free until we are able to determine our destiny.

  2. We Want Full Employment For Our People.

    We believe that the federal government is responsible and obligated to give every man employment or a guaranteed income. We believe that if the White American businessmen will not give full employment, then the means of production should be taken from the businessmen and placed in the community so that the people of the community can organize and employ all of its people and give a high standard of living.

  3. We Want An End To The Robbery
    By The Capitalists Of Our Black Community.

    We believe that this racist government has robbed us, and now we are demanding the overdue debt of forty acres and two mules. Forty acres and two mules were promised 100 years ago as restitution for slave labor and mass murder of Black people. We will accept the payment in currency which will be distributed to our many communities. The Germans are now aiding the Jews in Israel for the genocide of the Jewish people. The Germans murdered six million Jews. The American racist has taken part in the slaughter of over fifty million Black people; therefore, we feel that this is a modest demand that we make.

  4. We Want Decent Housing Fit For The Shelter Of Human Beings.

    We believe that if the White Landlords will not give decent housing to our Black community, then the housing and the land should be made into cooperatives so that our community, with government aid, can build and make decent housing for its people.

  5. We Want Education For Our People That Exposes
    The True Nature Of This Decadent American Society.
    We Want Education That Teaches Us Our True History
    And Our Role In The Present-Day Society.

    We believe in an educational system that will give to our people a knowledge of self. If a man does not have knowledge of himself and his position in society and the world, then he has little chance to relate to anything else.

  6. We Want All Black Men To Be Exempt From Military Service.

    We believe that Black people should not be forced to fight in the military service to defend a racist government that does not protect us. We will not fight and kill other people of color in the world who, like Black people, are being victimized by the White racist government of America. We will protect ourselves from the force and violence of the racist police and the racist military, by whatever means necessary.

  7. We Want An Immediate End To
    Police Brutality And Murder Of Black People.

    We believe we can end police brutality in our Black community by organizing Black self-defense groups that are dedicated to defending our Black community from racist police oppression and brutality. The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States gives a right to bear arms. We therefore believe that all Black people should arm themselves for self- defense.

  8. We Want Freedom For All Black Men
    Held In Federal, State, County And City Prisons And Jails.

    We believe that all Black people should be released from the many jails and prisons because they have not received a fair and impartial trial.

  9. We Want All Black People When Brought To Trial To Be Tried In
    Court By A Jury Of Their Peer Group Or People From Their Black
    Communities, As Defined By The Constitution Of The United States.

    We believe that the courts should follow the United States Constitution so that Black people will receive fair trials. The Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution gives a man a right to be tried by his peer group. A peer is a person from a similar economic, social, religious, geographical, environmental, historical and racial background. To do this the court will be forced to select a jury from the Black community from which the Black defendant came. We have been, and are being, tried by all-White juries that have no understanding of the “average reasoning man” of the Black community.

  10. We Want Land, Bread, Housing, Education,
    Clothing, Justice And Peace.

    When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect of the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that, whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and, accordingly, all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

Belfast IRSP Condemns Racist Attacks

The Irish Republican Socialist Party strongly condemns the recent racist attack on a West Belfast man as he walked to his place of work.  Shamefully, this outrageous attack was motivated simply by the colour of this man’s skin and carried out by thugs who represent no-one except anti-community lumpen elements.

The IRSP since it’s inception 40 years ago have always been proactively opposed to racism and it’s sinister cheerleaders who constantly seek to divide working class people by xenophobic scapegoating.  It is a tragedy that racist attacks have occurred in West Belfast, an area that still suffers from the impact of imperialism.  As a Republican Socialist party we view both racist attacks and indeed sectarian or homophobic attacks as fruit of the same poison tree.

The vast majority in West Belfast and Ireland itself are always working class people, irrespective of their colour, gender, sexual preference or religion, we are all one class of people.  The IRSP, along with the vast majority of working class people in West Belfast and beyond, offer our support to victims of racist attacks and will oppose racism wherever it appears.

IRSP Outlines It’s Position on Forthcoming Elections

The Irish Republican Socialist Party since its foundation has never been an abstentionist party. Similarly we do not see ourselves as a constitutionalist party. We do not believe that our ultimate political goals can be reached via constitutional politics. We have always said that all elections would be looked at on their merits and whether we believed taking part in certain elections would benefit in particular the party and in a wider context, the working class. This is a position first adopted by Seamus Costello when the party was formed in 1974 and we still stand by this position today.

After analysing the current political situation the Ard Comhairle and membership of the IRSP have decided not to contest the upcoming local government elections in the six counties. We have democratically taken this decision after a period of internal discussion. Standing candidates at this time would go against the wishes of our membership.

Constitutionalism has and will continue to fail the working class and our allegiance has always been to the working class and to building a fair and equal society on the island of Ireland. In fact some may believe that the IRSP have been led up the path of constitutional politics. Nothing could be further from the truth. The IRSP remains a committed revolutionary party, our ultimate goals remain and that is the establishment of an Irish 32 county Socialist Republic.
